La Gringa is about a young woman’s search for her identity. María Elena Garcia goes to visit her family in Puerto Rico with plans to connect with her homeland. However, the majority of the Puerto Ricans on the island consider her an American, a gringa.
 
Join us as the dramatist, Carmen Rivera introduces her OBIE-Award winning play La Gringa! It is the longest- running Spanish language play in Off-Broadway history. Rivera is a Founding Member and Co-Executive Director of E.P.P. (Educational Play Productions), which brings plays that deal with social issues into the public schools.
