Bilingual Books
Our store is the only Spanish/English bookstore in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. In addition to Puerto Rican literature, we specialize in books by Latina / Latino / Latine authors, books about Latin America, and books about social justice.
Local Merchandise
Find handmade and one-of-a-kind items made by local Latina/Latino/Latine artists and artisans, such as jewelry, candles, stickers, paintings, tote bags, and more.
Community Focus
Residents of 19133 receive a discount of 20%, and members of Taller receive a discount of 5-15% depending on membership level. We also offer discounts to nonprofits and educators.
Our Programming
Meet the Author Series
Our monthly Meet the Author events provide a platform for both newly-published local authors to Philadelphia and nationally-renowned Latinx authors to share their works. These events connect community members of all ages over a shared interest. Readings and author talks range genres and topics, from an anthology about Puerto Rican political movements in NYC to a children’s book called Arepas for Breakfast.
Hora de Cuentos
Our Hora de Cuentos / Saturday Story Time events are an opportunity for families to bring their children to enjoy spanish-focused or bilingual readings of children’s books in our store. Some events are themed like our Día de los Reyes Story Time, and are usually followed by activities like coloring and crafts related to the book.
