Rafael Villamil, An Impassioned Vision

With his first major exhibition at Taller Puertorriqueño, Paradise Has No Memory, the architect and artist Rafael Villamil stakes his claim in Philadelphia. Villamil is an important painter from Puerto Rico who has exhibited with Rafael Ferrer and in museums such as the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico. As an architect he has worked with Louis I Kahn and designed and built his unique, multitiered house in Chestnut Hill. Please join Rafael Damast, the curator of the exhibition and David B. Brownlee, distinguished historian of modern architecture at the University of Pennsylvania as they discuss the career and artwork of this monumental figure.
