We invite you to a s special outdoor screening and discussion of Macha Colón’s ‘Perfume de Gardenias\,’ presented in collaboration with the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival. \n\n\n\nPerfume de Gardenias follows an elderly Puerto Rican woman who finds solace in designing idiosyncratic funerals in the “muerto parado” or “standing funeral” tradition following the death of her husband. \n\n\n\nFollowing the screening attendees will have the chance to take part in a panel discussion featuring the director Macha Colón. The community is invited to reflect on their experiences of individual and collective grief as it relates to the film and its themes. Let’s connect\, reflect\, and heal through the art of storytelling. \n\n\n\nIn case of rain\, we’ll gather on October 20th at 6:00 pm!
