As we prioritize the health and safety of our staff, clients, and community, Taller Puertorriqueño has been operating as a virtual workplace since Tuesday, March 17th. Tallerâs building and offices will be closed to staff, participants and guests âtill further notice. We plan to reopen when it will be safe and the recommendations of public officials allow it. We will update you with new instructions if they so require.
All events scheduled to occur during this period of time will be cancelled or postponed, and will make efforts to entertain any meetings by conference call.
In the mean time connect to our:
- Free Online classes
- Workshops for students
- Explore our Archives
- Peruse our online gallery with Artwork for Sale
- Check the artwork from our Youth Artists
We will continue to monitor information as it becomes available in order to develop and adjust plans accordingly. We want to ensure that these measures result in limited impact on our ability to operate.
While exposure and risk levels are changing daily, it is critical to exercise all precautionary measures being recommended to limit the spread of this virus. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, using resources such as the CDC, the World Health Organization and the City of Philadelphia.
We will modify our plans as things develop or change and appreciate your continued partnership, support, and understanding as we all work to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Most importantly, letâs all practice kindness and self-care. Help others who might be at greater risk than you. We will get through this â together.
Here are some resources I have found from others, to help us get through, including resources available to youth and young adults in Philadelphia:
- Free meals and safe spaces for students while schools are closed
- Map: Where to find free meals and activities for students
- Free Library of Philadelphia’s digital resources that you can access anywhere, including ebooks, audiobooks, movies, TV, and music, over 100 databases, and the New York Times online.
