Born and raised in Córdoba, Argentina, Carlos Pascual (b. 1953- d. 2015) was passionate about the sanctity and intrinsic beauty of animals and nature. His meticulous colored-pencil drawings, of which he made prints, were created to honor and promote the protection of wildlife and nature. His preferred colored-pencil technique allowed him to deeply connect his intensity, conviction and passion with each individual stroke.
Pascual held a degree in Graphic Design from the School of Arts Lino Enea Spilimbergo, Argentina. Pascual worked at Taller for 13 years, where he was the Youth Artist Program Instructor and Coordinator until his passing in January, 2015. Throughout his career, he exhibited extensively and received many awards and commendations.
This exhibition honors the memory of Carlos Pascual. To his students, Pascual was a staunch advocate who inspired them and always believed in their abilities to succeed. As an artist, teacher, friend and member of Philadelphiaâs Latino community, he has left an indelible impression that will not be forgotten. This exhibition presents a sampling of his colored-pencil artwork, artwork created by his students, and a video honoring his life and work.
