Volunteer/Give/Spread the Word:
Taller Puertorriqueñoâs staff organizes this annual warm lunch and provides clothing and canned groceries to people in need./Un almuerzo gratis para los más necesitados de nuestra comunidad.
Every year on the day before Thanksgiving, Taller holds this warm lunch and provides clothing and canned groceries to people in need. We need donations of food, warm clothing, and time. With community support from individual and business donations, and lots of volunteers’ helping hands, we are able to offer a warm, welcoming space full of food, celebration and necessities.
If you would like to give food and/or clothing or want to volunteering (see tasks below*), please contact Gabriela Sanchez at 215-423-6320 or gsanchez@tallerpr.org.
Want to help spread the word? Download the event flyer here to share with those in need in our community.

*Volunteer tasks include:
Before the event: We will need volunteers to help with sorting the clothing by size, type, etc. a few days before. Also, making decorations and putting them up.
Set-up: arranging clothing for distribution, decorating the space, arranging tables and chairs in the theater space, putting down tablecloths, cutting up desserts for distribution, and more.
During the event: greeting guests warmly, helping people find seats and get food, helping people find clothing and making sure everyone has bags to take their clothing home (we also may need donations of bags), receiving food donations and taking them to the serving tables, serving food, serving drinks, making sure used plates, cups and utensils make it to the trash/recycling, and more.
After the event: Clean-up crew: storing any extra clothing, cleaning up dirty plates, wiping down tables, breaking down tables/chairs and putting them away, taking down decorations, washing dishes in the kitchen, sweeping, etc.
