The Velocity Fund directly supports artists to organize new collaborative projects throughout the city of Philadelphia by awarding grants up to $5,000. With his first major exhibition at Taller Puertorriqueño, Paradise Has No Memory, the architect and artist Rafael Villamil stakes his claim in Philadelphia. Villamil is an important painter from Puerto Rico who has exhibited with Rafael Ferrer and in museums such as the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico.
