Did you know that Puerto Ricans celebrate the longest Christmas in the world, lasting from Thanksgiving until mid-January? Kicking off the festivities on Thanksgiving and extending the party through the middle of January, friends and family come together for 45 days of midnight carols, hearty bowls of holiday stew, and joyful bomba dancing. Taller Puertorriqueño and Los Bomberos de La Calle present Encendido Navideño on December 3rd, 2022 from 4-8pm at Taller Puertorriqueño.
Please join us as we kick off more than a month of festivities with music by Los Bomberos de la Calle and Trio Renacer. Experience the magic of Christmas in the center of North Philadelphia. Stroll beneath arches of twinkling lights and explore a winter scene o uniquely decorated casitas, or âlittle houses,â inspired by the jÃbaro traditions of the Puerto Rican countryside.
We hope you join us in the festivities for the month of December. With immersive holiday-themed workshops and a craft market highlighting local vendors offered throughout the month, Encendido Navideño will light up North Philadelphia with the Christmas spirit.
