The arts can provide an avenue for individuals to express and process their emotions in a safe and healthy way.
Join us for a free outdoor film screening of Macha Colón’s Perfume de Gardenias, co-presented by the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival, in Taller’s parking lot. Attendees will come together to watch a film that follows an elderly Puerto Rican woman who finds solace in designing idiosyncratic funerals in the muerto parado or “standing funeral” tradition following the death of her husband. The movie serves as a point for further discussion and reflection on the impact of gun violence on our community and the collective grief that has resulted from it.
