The incredible pace of history in the making we are experiencing day these days is unprecedented and transformative.

These are times of profound upheaval, and on the other hand, a reason for hope. Not only are we witnessing the country coming together peacefully to demand meaningful change, but we are also heartened by two additional events this week. The decisions by the Supreme Court of the United States’ to guarantee employment protection to members of the LGBTQ and transgender community and the blocking of the government’s measure to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The DACA ruling halts the separation of countless families and allows the ‘Dreamers’ to continue to thrive and shape the country’s cultural fabric.

There is so much that needs to change. And today, as Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, we join the efforts and demands with everyone that continues to advocate for true diversity, equity, and inclusion in this country and beyond.
