May 17, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Consisting of selected artists from the Taken Exhibition Cycle, that explored icons and motifs in Latino art, will delve deeply into artistic intent and the use of cultural imagery. It will also consider how artists’ choices may engender a rich dialogue between diverse communities and potentially impact social change. The participating artists are Miguélàngel Ruíz from the Vejigantes of Puerto Rico: Origins Myths and Messengers, Daniel de Jesús from A Contemporary Madonna Counter Point: Mexico & Puerto Rico, and Cecile Chong from the exhibition The Iconography of Meaning.  Due to illness, Shelley R.
